Can I Spray Tan With Lash Extensions From The Lash Lounge Frisco – Starwood?
Love a good spray tan? Allow The Lash Lounge Frisco – Starwood to put your mind at ease: You can spray tan with lash extensions. But there are some things you MUST know in order to keep your lashes protected while you get your glow on! 🌟
How to Protect Your Lash Extensions When Spray Tanning
There’s no harm in loving a good spray tan, but when you have lash extensions, there are certain things you must do in order to keep them protected and looking their best following every magical mist.
See the 3 things you need to know when it comes to spray tanning with lash extensions.
#1. Cover Your Lashes During a Spray Tan
Covering your eyes and lashes while spray tanning is key. 🔑 We cannot stress this enough. When you cover your eyes during a spray tan, you’re protecting them from the moisture of the spray itself. And as most of you Lash Lounge veterans know (after all our educational lash care preaching), moisture from things like hairspray, dry shampoo, and sprays, in general, could break or weaken the bond of the adhesive. The only time you will need to 100% forgo getting a spray tan is within 8 hours after your first full set! This is a time when your lash extensions do not need to come close to encountering moisture of any kind.
How can you cover your lashes? Many salons and spray tanning services provide small goggles at the time of service. If they don’t or the goggles don’t come with a strap to stay in place as you stand, then you may want to purchase a pair prior to your spray tanning session.
#2. Apply Lash Armor for Extra Protection
Even with those trusty goggles, shielding your lashes from moisture mishaps during your spray
tan is smart! This is where either of our two Lash Armors come in handy. Whether you go with
our Onyx or Crystal formula, coating your lash line with a sealant will amp up the protection, shielding your fluttery friends from the elements. Wondering where to purchase? At The Lash Lounge Frisco – Starwood!
#3. Keep Up the Lash Cleaning!
If you’ve had lash extensions for a while, then you’re probably a pro when it comes to cleaning
them. 👏🏼 This good habit is even more important when you get a spray tan.
Even if you don’t think your lashes came in contact with that golden mist, keep up the cleaning. If you’re new to lash extensions, be sure to purchase one of our Foaming Lash Cleansers (Unscented or Tea Tree formula), plus our handy brush and barrel, so you, too, can protect your lash line!
What Happens When You Don’t Protect Your Lashes When Spray Tanning
It’s daunting. Here’s what can happen when you DON’T protect your lashes while spray tanning!
- The spray will coat your extensions and cause clumping along your lash line.
- Your lashes could prematurely shed, causing you to need a brand-new full set of lash extensions. 👎🏼
- Discoloration may occur as the spray accumulates along your lash line. This can diminish that rich, beautiful lash color that comes with a fresh set of lashes.
- Your lash stylist might have to spend extra time getting your lash line clean during your refill appointment; this cuts into the time she has to get your lash line back to the fullness you love (read: fewer lashes! ☹️).
Protect Your Lashes or Take a (Spray Tan) Pass
If you’re not going to consistently protect your lashes while you spray tan, then our advice is simple: Don’t have your face sprayed OR pass on spray tans completely.
We don’t mean to be “Debbie Downer,” but spray tanning will take a toll on your lashes if you don’t protect them. And we not only want you to protect those custom lash beauties we’ve worked hard to create, but also the investment you’ve made in them.
Yes, a gorgeous glow is nice, but not at the expense of your full and fluffy lash line, right?
