Safely Pairing Beauty Products with Lash Services
The best part about lash services is that they eliminate your need for eyelash beauty products! But that doesn’t mean you have to skip out on the products you love. Whether you want to amplify your extensions or love to experiment, the right products and tips can have you safely applying makeup products after your service at The Lash Lounge Cliffside Park – The Centre.
Let’s walk through some of our guest’s top questions about makeup with lash services.
Can You Wear Mascara with a Lash Lift?
Let’s get straight to the point: Yes, you can safely wear mascara with your lash lift.
The big thing to remember is that it’s best to wait at least 24 hours after your initial service before applying mascara. This will ensure that the curl has been properly set.
To keep your lift looking great long-term, our rec is to steer clear of waterproof products. Why? 🤔 They can be harder to wash off your lashes and due to this, the removal process and scrubbing could damage the curl. Instead, choose an oil-free mascara which tends to be easier to remove and helps you preserve your beautiful curl.
The best way to add a little more drama to your lash lift and get that mascara effect: Get a lash tint with your lift! Tinting is the perfect way to make your lashes appear thicker, darker and bolder without a stick of mascara. But wait, it gets better…tinting results can last up to four weeks!
Can You Curl Your Lashes After a Lash Lift?
Our recommendation is simple: Stay away from curling tools or DIY curling methods after a lash lift. Due to tugging at the root of your lashes, curlers can be damaging to your lash line and lash lift results. A lash curler can also carry germs if not cleaned properly and regularly.
The best thing to do is let your lash lift shine all on its own. After all, the beauty of a lash lift is that it removes the need for eyelash curlers while leaving you with a maintenance-free lift that lasts up to eight weeks!
Is There a Safe Lash Extension Mascara?
There are two things to look for when searching for a mascara that’s safe for lash extensions. First, you want to make sure it’s oil-free. Second, you want to stay away from waterproof mascara. Just like with your lash lift, we recommend these types of formulas because they’re easier to remove and will be less likely to prematurely break down the adhesive that’s keeping the extensions intact with your natural lashes.
To safely wear mascara with extensions, follow these 4 simple tips:
1. Use our Amplify + Extend Mascara Duo (It’s specifically designed to wear with lash extensions)
2. Don’t wear mascara until at least 8 hours after your last extension appointment.
3. Avoid getting mascara on the root of your lashes and instead, focus on applying the product to the middle and upward to the tip of your lashes.
4. Cleanse your lashes every night before going to bed, especially if you have mascara on your extensions.

Another great tip for lash extension wearers in NJ is the alternative to mascara, which is a lash sealant!
A sealant emboldens and protects your extensions, helping them last longer between refills. At The Lash Lounge Cliffside Park – The Centre, we have two protective lash coatings to choose from: Crystal or Onyx Lash Armor. Not only does a lash sealant act as a protective shield against elements that could prematurely break down the adhesive, but it also promotes healthier lash growth and when using our Onyx formula, it can add a bold emphasis to your extensions.🖤
How to Use Products with Brow Services
Whether you want to fluff your brows with a brush or add color with a pencil, you’ll want to know how to safely use products and tools with your brow services. Depending on the service, some beauty products are completely fine to use, and sometimes even encouraged!
Can you brush brows after lamination?
Absolutely! Brushing your laminated brows in the direction of your lamination will help them stay fluffy and last in the position you want. Just make sure you don’t brush them until 24 hours after your appointment to allow the shape to set.
Can you wear makeup after eyebrow threading?
Eyebrow threading is a great way to get the perfect brow! But if you have light eyebrow hair or want them to make a bigger statement you may choose to wear makeup, like an eyebrow filler pencil, with your threaded brows. This is completely fine and won’t damage the look of your fresh, threaded brows. Just make sure you wait a day until applying any makeup over the area as the skin may be a little sensitive after your service.
Dreaming of maintenance-free color on your brows? We suggest pairing your brow shaping services, like threading or lamination, with a brow tint. A tint will give you up to four weeks of beautifully colored brows minus those pesky pencils.
